●About Rabies Vaccincations

Owners are required to have their dogs immunized against rabies within 91 days of birth, and to repeat the vaccination annually. Every spring a group of vets makes rounds to most areas in co-operation with local authorities to administer vaccinations.

Also, immunizations are available at local vetenary clinics. Dogs which have been immunized will be issued a proof of immunization which should be attached to the registration tag on the dog’s collar.

Pet management - Dogs: About Dog Registration

●Dog registration

All dogs are required to be registered once, within 91 days of birth. This can be done at municipal offices or at veterinary clinics. On registering your dog you will be issued a registration tag which should be attached to the dog’s collar.

●Alterations to registration details

In the case of the registered dog dying, the owner name or address changing, etc, changes should be reported promptly to the municipal office.

●About owning a dog

１．Keep your dog on a chain

２．When walking your dog do not release it from its leash, and take care not to frighten other people.

３．Dog poo is the owner’s responsibility. Make sure you pick up your dog's poo.

４．In the unusual event of becoming unable to take care of your dog please contact your local municipal office and on the appointed day bring your dog to the office.

※There are on occasion complaints regarding the way in which dogs are kept. Please make sure you observe the rules and do not cause annoyance for those around you.
